Two Virtual Enterprise teams from Kennedy High School in Bellmore recently earned accolades in the annual Long Island Business Plan Competition.

Team Cupcake Break, which developed a marketing plan for a cupcake company, grabbed second place, and Team Baja, which wrote a plan to sell backyard equipment such as grills, took third place.

Kennedy High School takes in students from Bellmore and Merrick. Pioneered in New York City public schools, the Virtual Enterprise Program offers students the opportunity to experience a simulated business environment in which they explore all facets of the workaday world.

Members of Team Cupcake Break included Jamie Avino, Brandon Beller, Brett Capilupi, Michael Golodner, Chelsea Melworm and Anton Terlovsky.

Team Baja comprised Jonathan Abramson, Dylan Blumenthal, Carly Imber, Alex Kaiserman, Mitchell Kaplain and Sarah Schneebaum.
