The Best Buddies Friendship Ball was held on March 7 at Oceanside High School and students from all over Long Island showed up to party. The friendship ball also know as the Best Buddies Prom offers an opportunity for students with special needs to participate in the high school tradition of dressing up and going to a dance with people who embrace them for who they are. The award-winning Oceanside High School Best Buddies Chapter was among the first high school chapters in New York State and the first on Long Island. Best Buddies promotes one to one friendship between students with intellectual disabilities and their typically developing peers.
