The Oceanside Department of Community Affairs [DOCA] and the Oceanside Kiwanis held an Easter egg hunt on Mar. 19, on the Schoolhouse Green.

Nancy Baxter, recreation assistant for DOCA said about 400 children came. “We also had special needs kids that came at 10:30. All kids went home with eggs filled with jellybeans. Those that found a golden ticket in their eggs got a special prize.” Baxter said they had toys and stuffed rabbits, and a grand prize was a basket filled with toys.

Baxter said they had helpers in the field, Key clubbers from Long Beach and Oceanside, Girl Scouts and Kiwanis members along with other volunteers, to make sure everyone went home with something.
