More than 50 paddlers came out on the beautiful autumn day to participate in the Pumpkin Race.

Empire Kayaks, in Island Park, hosted its annual Pumpkin Race last weekend on a gourd-ous early autumn day.
Participants have to race one mile down Barnums Channel to a small beach. There, they beach their kayaks and race to grab a pumpkin before paddling back to the start.
Participants were rewarded with refreshments, T-shirts, medals and, of course, pumpkins.
