The cool and cloudy weather helped to push thoughts of summer away as fleets of yellow school buses returned to the streets on Sept. 8, taking over 1,000 students from Oceanside and hundreds from Island Park to school.
It was the first day for not just the students, but for many administrators as well, after retirements at the end of the last school year set off a wave of reorganizations in both
districts.
