American Legion Post 1029 in Island Park held a ceremony for Veterans Day last Friday at the village’s memorial on Long Beach Road to honor all who served our country.

The American Legion Post 1029 in Island Park held its annual Veterans Day ceremony at the foot of the village’s war memorial on Long Beach Road.
Standing under the American flag and the POW/MIA flag, the veterans remembered those who came before and those who were no longer with us.
They rang the ceremonial bell on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. And falling on the eleventh year, it had even more significance.
