Murray declares State of Emergency in Rockville Centre

Mayor Fran Murray has declared a State of Emergency in Rockville Centre.

Pursuant to this declaration, Mayor Murray has ordered that all businesses — including all restaurants and bars — must close by 10 P.M. on Saturday, August 27.

Additionally, Mayor Murray has declared a curfew throughout Rockville Centre beginning at 11 P.M. on Saturday, August 27. No one may be out of doors after 11 P.M. tonight except authorized emergency workers.

Residents who live south of Merrick Road are reminded that the Nassau County Executive has ordered a mandatory evacuation of your area.

Residents who live south of Merrick Road are advised to seek shelter with family or friends who live north of Merrick Road.

If you cannot find shelter with family or friends, the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management has directed you to seek shelter at Nassau Community College.
