Oceanside Kiwanis hosted annual dinner at OJC

The Oceanside Kiwanis Club hosted its annual Charter and Installation Dinner at Robert Ian Caterers at the Oceanside Jewish Center on Oct. 3, honoring several locals and installing a new president.

Heart of Gold recipients were Sue Murphy and Beth Sporing. The Legion of Honor went to Craig DeBaun and Fred Morse and the special service award was presented to the Oceanside High School family for its work with the community in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

The organization also honored Cathy Dapolito has the outgoing President and installed the new officers:Thomas Cesiro, III – President; Seth Blau - 1st Vice President; William Kallinikos -2nd Vice President; Carrie Rosano – Secretary, Tom Mollo – Treasurer and Robert Transom - Assistant Treasurer

Cesiro said that it was nice to have the Oceanside club’s own past president Nancy Baxter to do the installation of the new officers since she was just elected as the new Lt. Governor of Kiwanis Long Island South west Division.
