Oceanside resident rings in 100th birthday while practicing safety

The coronavirus pandemic couldn't keep Elsie Warren's loved ones from celebrating her 100th birthday on Monday at Oceanside Care Center.

Friends and family sang to her at the front door of the facility at 1 p.m. from a safe social distance.

Warren was a Rockville Centre resident for more than 50 years and owned and ran Rockville School of Dance in Oceanside for more than four decades.

Attendees showered Warren with flowers, gifts and balloons, and she wore a mask to make sure she remained safe amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

Oceanside Care Center, at 2914 Lincoln Ave., has been  a part of the community for 50 years, offering short-term and long-term rehabilitation.
