Arrests

George Wright, 59, and Geraldine Wright, 56, of Broad Channel, were arrested and charged with petit larceny at the Fourth Precinct on Feb. 26. Police said the defendants did not scan certain items at the self-checkout in Stop & Shop, 3577 Long Beach Road, in Oceanside.

William Arguetta Pena, 24, of Long Beach, was arrested at Austin Boulevard/Railroad Place in North Long Beach on Feb. 20 and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Daniel Cassidy, 25, of Wantagh, was arrested at Austin Boulevard/Railroad Place in North Long Beach on Feb. 13 and charged with driving while intoxicated following a stop for a traffic violation.

Christopher Bonas, 20, of Oceanside, was arrested at West Windsor/Fourth Street in Oceanside on Feb. 17 and charged with burglarizing a home on July 22 of last year. Police said he entered the home through a rear basement window and stole assorted items.

Sean Adam Gluck, 37, of Valley Stream, was arrested at the Fourth Precinct on Feb. 24 and charged with grand larceny for a crime allegedly committed on March 1 of last year. Police said Gluck went behind the store counter at the European Image Tanning Salon in Oceanside and stole a pocketbook.

Lawrence Macklin, 53, of Oceanside, was arrested at Stop & Shop, 3577 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, on Feb. 28 and charged with menacing. Police said he punched, kicked, and attempted to hit the victim with a car jack.

Michael Bauman, 25, of Oceanside, was arrested at Kohl's, 3600 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, on Feb. 26 and charged with petit larceny. Police said he tried to shoplift four boxes of cologne before he was stopped by store security.

Leaving the scene of an accident

Police said an unknown woman driving a 2003 GMC Yukon hit a 2007 Nissan Altima in the parking lot of GAP, 3555 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, on Feb. 19, and left the scene without identifying herself.

Criminal mischief

Police said a woman walking out of South Nassau Hospital, 1 Healthy Way in Oceanside, saw a white man, about 20 years old, with a black hat and a dark jacket attempting to break into her 2001 Nissan Sentra on Feb. 18. According to police, the victim screamed and the suspect fled. The car's passenger side window was broken.

The owner of a 1999 Ford Taurus parked on Parma Road in Island Park reported that his car had been damaged on Feb. 13.

Police said someone poured sugar into the gas tank of the victim's 2002 Toyota Camry parked on Brighton Road in Island Park on Feb. 18.

People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. All are presumed innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
