The Oceanside Association of Girl Scouts held its first Powder Puff Derby on March 12 at the Oceanside High School gym.
A Powder Puff Derby is similar to a Boy Scout Pinewood Derby. The girls carved cars from blocks of wood, decorated them and then raced them down a track.
A huge crowd came out to watch 93 cars race. With many different prizes awarded for different categories, everyone felt like a winner by the time the day ended.
