Report Inappropriate Comments

I have spoken to many private school parents. I have been a loyal resident and taxpayer in Valley Stream 24 for 15years. More than one public school parent yelled at us "Well, it's your choice to send your kid to private school." That is absolutely right. But try and remember that I also contribute for your child to be educated. I do not send them because I dislike the schools here. I love Valley Stream or else I would not have stayed for 15 yrs. I also pay for sports, band, and any extras. this year alone we have paid out over $800 in 7th and 8th grade sports and band. We also pay for any club that our children join like drama. So as I am upset that your rifle, bowling, and golf teams are being cut, I feel like my daughters and sons safety is more important. we are NOT wealthy. My daughter got a 1/3 scholarship to SHA based on her co-op score. bc of hard work. We love Valley Stream; 10 kids on my block alone have been and are being educated here and love it. But we are so grateful you have listened to us...all we want is peace of mind and and a busing.
