Hewitt students help Skelos make a difference
Courtesy Rockville Centre Schools
Teaching assistant Anita Roseman (top left), teaching aide Doreen Farano (top right) and students in Patrice Camastro’s kindergarten class proudly displayed their snowflakes before sending them off to Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Members of Hewitt’s Student Council joined forces with Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos in an effort to help make his annual Holiday Toy Drive a huge success. Under the leadership of special education teacher Rachel Vyskocil and teaching assistant Abbe Wade, students collected new, unwrapped toys for distribution to those children within our community who were negatively impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Through this important and meaningful effort, students learned first hand that by working cooperatively together a positive difference can be made for those in need of help during the holiday season.
