The Hispanic Brotherhood is involved with Lord & Taylor's Do Good Shopping Event to raise funds and to save shoppers money. The tickets cost $5 each and with that comes a variety of coupons to be used at the Garden City store location on Oct. 30. Included in the coupons are two 25 percent off coupons and a 15 percent off coupon (included in that is cosmetics and fragrances). Additionally, a Lord & Taylor credit card is used, shoppers get an extra 10 percent off. There also are prizes given out throughout the store.

Mind, Body and Soul

Psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, columnist, best selling author and television commentator, Dr. Gail Saltz, will talk with Nobel Prize winners Eric Kandel and Elie Wiesel at B'nai Sholom-Beth David to explore what it means to be human, with a focus on healing, feeling and fitness. Mercy Medical Center seeks participants for cancer research effort

Men and women between the ages of 30 and 65, who have never been diagnosed with cancer, are needed to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Prevention Study-3 that will enroll a diverse population of up to a half-million people to help researchers to better understand the lifestyle, environmental, and genetic factors that cause or prevent cancer.
