Runners wishing to enter Rockville Centre's annual running events on Nov. 10, sponsored in conjunction with the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce should call (516) 678-9339 for an application or register online at www.Active.com. The one-mile Family Fun Run begins at 9 a.m. on Front Street in front of the LIRR station. The 10K and 5K races begin at 10 a.m. on Park Avenue in front of the Fantasy Theater. At the Sandel Center 50 South Park Ave. (516) 678-9350 Any RVC senior 60 years or older is encouraged to find out about the programs and services offered. The Senior Center has joined Facebook. Assemblyman Brian Curran visits Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. Senior Photo ID Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. -2 p.m. Representatives from the Town of Hempstead Senior ID program will create photo IDs. Veterans Day Luncheon The Veteran's Day Luncheon will be held at the Sandel Senior Center on Friday, Nov. 9 at 12 p.m. The cost will be $5 to register beforehand and $6 at the door. Holiday Craft Fair The Holiday Craft Fair will allow residents to purchase handmade scarves, hats, blankets and various baby items. The fair will be held on Friday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Open Gym Program The main gymnasium of the Rec Center will be open for free play basketball for grades 4 and up on Saturday afternoons from 2 to 4:30 p.m. beginning Oct. 29. The evening open gym for grades 6 and up will begin Oct. 5 and Oct. 6 from 7:30 to 10:15 p.m. Admission is by valid 2012-2013 Recreation Card. New members are welcome. Sandel Senior Men’s Club The club meets the first and third Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. for breakfast and business. At 11 a.m., guest speakers discuss topics of interest to men.
