The Cill Cais Players will perform “Peggy O’Reilly’s Purse” by Seamus Burke, a one act comedy directed by Pat Rooney. The Players are noted for their ability to transform a simple stage into a recognizable room from an Irish cottage. The players are true amateurs in the original sense of the word, that is, people who love something, in this instance, people who love the theater and its ability to transform an audience for an hour.

The Cill Cais Players have brought their plays to local halls, such as the Irish American Center and school and Church auditoriums, for many years. Their experience has taught them how to assist their audiences to suspend their disbelief for an hour so that they can enter into the world on stage. The Garden City Library stage will be Broadway for a night. Visitors are urged to come early to be awed by the set and to stay and be delighted by this comedy.
