Crime watch: Rockville Centre

Arrests

On Feb. 22 at 5:33 p.m., a 31-year-old Rockville Centre man was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal mischief at his home.

At 4:50 p.m. on Feb. 27, a 28-year-old Queens man was arrested and charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child in the vacinity of TGI Friday’s on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

Property damage

On Feb. 21 at 3:27 p.m., a motorist reported that her vehicle was damaged while it was parked on Merrick Road.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle

At 3 p.m. on Feb. 22, the manager of a U-Haul company notified police that a truck was not returned after the rental period ended.

Investigation

A Lenox Road resident reported that she was the victim of an online computer virus scam on Feb. 24 at 8:29 p.m.

On Feb. 25 at 3:11 p.m., a Reeve Road resident notified police that she was the victim of a social media scam.

Unusual incident

At 1:46 p.m. on Feb. 24, a Brower Avenue resident reported that someone used her personal information to purchase internet services.

Leaving the scene

A motorist notified police that his car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while it was parked on North Village Avenue on Feb. 24 at 10:56 p.m.
