January Tree Pick-ups

The Sanitation Department announces curbside pick up of

discarded Christmas trees through Jan. 27. Please put trees at the curbside only on the designated day of the week for your neighborhood:

Mondays – South of Sunrise Highway

Tuesdays – North of Sunrise Highway and east of Long Beach Road

Wednesdays – North of Sunrise Highway, west of Long Beach Road, east of Hempstead Avenue to DeMott

Thursdays – North of Sunrise Highway and west of Hempstead Avenue

Rockville Centre Little League registration

RVC Little League 2012 season registration for new players will take place at the Recreation Center on Jan. 7 and 11. On Jan. 7 registration will be between 9 a.m. and noon. On Jan. 11, registration will take place between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. First time registrants must bring a birth certificate with a raised seal and proof of residency to the registration. Returning players may register online by visiting WWW.RVCLITTLELEAGUE.COM

Fortnightly Club

On Jan. 10, the Fortnightly Club of Rockville Centre will present a program on Estate and Assets Protection Planning, as well as Medicaid. The guest speaker will be attorney, Maureen Di Tata, Esq. The meeting and program will begin at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Methodist Church on Hempstead Ave. Refreshments will follow. Visitors are welcome.

Tree of Life Yoga

Central Synagogue, 430 DeMott Ave. is again sponsoring a Winter "mini" session, with evening classes of yoga. The classes are open to yoga students of all levels. The Tree of Life Yoga will be offering a series of six classes each that began on Jan. 3 at 6 p.m. The series of classes is available for $75 or you may pay as you go for $15 a class. Members of the community are invited to participate. Join the circle! Israeli Dance in the Kahn Auditorium of Central Synagogue, 430 DeMott Ave. on Jan 18 from 8-9 p.m. $10 fee.
