Knights to sponsor dinners for Iraq, Afghanistan vets The St. Agnes Cathedral Knights of Columbus and The Carltun at Eisenhower Park have teamed up to offer a “Welcome Home/Appreciation Dinner For Two.” This dinner is being offered to St. Agnes parishioners and/or Rockville Centre residents who have served military duty in Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11/2001. The Carltun will provide a dinner certificate, which can be used at the veteran’s discretion. Thanks to the commitment and generosity of the Knights of Columbus and The Carltun, these brave men and women who have served their country in its time of need, putting themselves in harm’s way, will receive the tribute they deserve. Interfaith Service of Thanksgiving On Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m., join your neighbors and the Rockville Centre Interfaith Clergy Association in community, prayer and gratitude at the 61st annual Interfaith Service of Thanksgiving, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 240 Lincoln Ave. Father Robert Herrick from the Church of the Ascension will lead the service and clergy from other Rockville Centre churches and synagogues will participate. Please bring canned food and other non-perishable food items (no glass containers) to share our bounty with others. All are welcome! Please think of inviting friends from neighboring communities to join. And also mark your calendars: on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m., members of the Rockville Centre Interfaith Clergy Association will discuss the teachings of their religious traditions regarding current issues of economic justice. That event will take place at The Church of the Ascension, 71 North Village Ave.

Molloy College gala This Saturday, Nov. 12, at its new Public Square and Madison Theatre, Molloy College will host the inaugural event for the theater, hosted by Martin Short, left, the well-known comedian, actor, writer, singer and producer. The evening will also feature a number of other entertainers. Dinner will be in the form of a “tasting” where guests will have the opportunity to visit different parts of Molloy’s new Public Square while sampling from a range of elaborate food-tasting stations. The cocktail reception starts at 6 p.m., entertainment at 7:30 p.m., dinner at 9 p.m. Tickets for the show are $150. Holiday Food Drive

Through Dec. 31, the Rockville Centre/Lakeview Economic Opportunity Commission is holding a food drive for the holiday season. Donated items will be received at the EOC's office at 140 N. Centre Ave. Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. For more information, call (516) 764-4500.

Divine Yoga 10-Year Anniversary

On Nov. 10 from 7-9 p.m.

Divine Yoga in St. Mark's Church, 200 Hempstead Ave., will mark its 10-year anniversary. All past and current students and teachers —and their friends — are invited. There will be live music, dancing, gong meditation, psychic readings and henna tattoos. (Suggested $10 donations to benefit St. Mark's will gratefully be accepted.)

Thanksgiving Food Drive

On Nov. 12 and 13, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., members of the Rockville Centre Lions Club will collect donations at King Kullen, 127 Sunrise Highway.
