Holiday Food Drive
Through Dec. 31, the Rockville Centre/Lakeview Economic Opportunity Commission is holding a food drive for the holiday season. Donated items will be received at the EOC's office at 140 N. Centre Ave. Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. For more information, call (516) 764-4500.
Lecture, book signing
On Nov. 3, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Dr. Herbert Ausubel will give a talk and do a book-signing for "Flower of God" which has been compared to "Schindler's List" and "Night" at the Rockville Centre Public Library, 221 North Village Ave.
The Nuremberg Trials – As you never heard them before
On Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Molloy College's Hays Theatre in the Wilbur Arts Center, John Q. Barrett, St. John's University professor of law, will discuss the Nuremberg Trials and U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Robert H. Jackson, 1892-1954, and his service as the chief prosecutor of the principal surviving Nazi leaders during 1945-1949. Walk for platelet disorders
On Nov. 6, at 10 a.m. at the Recreation Center, Stephanie Wettstein, diagnosed with Chronic Refractory ITP, a rare autoimmune blood disorder, is organizing a walk to raise funds for the Platelet Disorder Support Association.
