Six officers from the Rockville Centre Police Department joined Nassau County detectives in responding to a request from MTA police for assistance in quelling a disturbance on the Rockville Centre Long Island Rail Road platform that also involved people from an eastbound Long Island Rail Road train as it pulled into the station at 2:13 a.m. on June 10.
According to Rockville Centre Police Commissioner Charles Gennario, about 150 people were involved in the melee that resulted in five arrests and the issuance of a dozen summonses.
Gennario said that an MTA police officer broke a finger during the incident and that a Rockville Centre officer was punched in the face.
