Gun buyback in village this weekend

Posted

In a bid to get illegal guns off the street, this Saturday, Jan. 30, between 9 a.m. and noon, the Nassau County DA’s office and county police department, in conjunction with the Village of Rockville Centre and its police department, will hold a gun buyback program at Shiloh Baptist Church, 96 N. Centre Ave. Gun owners who want to surrender their illegal, operable handguns will be able to, anonymously and with no questions asked, and will receive $200.

Guns brought in by car must be transported in the trunk and must be unloaded and put in a plastic or paper bag or in a shoe box. Licensed guns, BB guns, air pistols, long guns and replicas will not be accepted.
