Hats off to another great Rockville Centre Little League season

On June 18, Mort Geller division Little League players participated in the annual All-Star Games for all 8-year-olds. Three All-Star games were played at Bligh, Ketler and Lister Fields. The 7 and 8-year olds in the league impressed their families and friends with some fantastic baseball and excellent sportsmanship.

When the games were over, approximately 250 players, family members, Rockville Centre Little League board members and guests of honor gathered at Ketler Field for a trophy presentation and picnic. The players were all smiles as they came up one by one to collect their well-deserved hardware.

Guests of honor who were kind enough to serve hot dogs and Italian Ices to all those present included: Mayor Mary Bossart; past presidents of the RVC Little League — Tom Gallucci, Bob Klein, Ed Maher and Bob Tolan; and Rockville Centre Parks and Recreation Superintendent Anthony “Mr. B” Brunetta.

Naturally, hot dogs were the special of the day and were provided by Tom Mahoney, owner of MacArthur’s Park Restaurant where the RVC Little League holds its meetings all year round.

The All-Star Games and picnic were coordinated by Michael Lawless and Peter Austin, co-commissioners of the Mort Geller division.
