Homeward bound for dogs in Rockville Centre pet event

Organizers of Junior Girl Scout Troop 806's Pet Adoption and Awareness event last Sunday are calling it a success, with three dogs finding potential new homes. One was a beagle who might go to Hewitt Elementary School's principal. The other were two English Spaniel litter mates who are hoping to be placed together. In addition to the adoptions, the troop raised $240 and collected pet food, blankets, towels, gently used bedding and pet toys. The money and goods were divided equally among three local shelters: Bobby and the Strays, Grateful Greyhounds and Heaven Can Wait.
