Lions Club Food Drive: Nov. 14 at Rec Center

The Rockville Centre Lions Club will hold its 14th Annual Food Drive to help provide Thanksgiving dinner to local families in need.

On Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to
1 p.m., Lions Club members will be at the John A. Anderson Recreation Center on North Long Beach Road collecting food items and gift cards. The following can be donated:

• A $10 supermarket gift card to be put towards purchase of turkeys
• Can of cranberry sauce
• Canned vegetables
• Yams
• Can or jar of turkey gravy

Residents can drive up and drop off these items, and recreation center staff will make and distribute food baskets to more than 80 local families. If a resident misses the time posted, they can drop off at the recreation center during its business hours.

The RVC Community Fund, Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club will also be donating $300 gift cards to be used to buy turkeys for the families. They need the community’s help to donate the fixings to give a nice Thanksgiving meal to residents in need.
