Rockville Centre Mayor Francis X. Murray finished taping seven cable-access television shows with the help of students at Molloy College. The 25-minute shows are aired at different times of the day and televised on Cablevision Channel 18 or Verizon FiOS Channel 37.

“The priority of this administration has always been to keep our residents informed,” Mayor Murray said during one of the shows. “This show presents a different outlet to do just that.”

Throughout the series, Murray explored different departments within the village to inform residents of projects, events and available programs.

The second taping is currently on the village’s website. Murray’s guests were Rockville Centre Police Commissioner Charles Gennario and Fire Chief Robert Seaman.

The next show, featuring guests John Thorp and Gwynne Feiner of the Department of Public Works, should soon be airing on the village’s site.

“He approached our office and said he was interested in doing a show,” said Molloy communications professor and television producer Tom Kenny. “We thought it is a great work opportunity for our students and for internships.”
