Mercy Medical Center's golf classic set for July 25

Posted

The Friends of Mercy Medical Center will hold its 30th annual golf classic on July 25 at the Cherry Valley Club in Garden City.

The event will honor Peter Quick, former president of the American Stock Exchange, and former president and CEO of Quick & Reilly brokerage, who currently serves as chairman of Mercy’s Board of Trustees.

The golf classic this year is again co-chaired by Joseph and Thomas Graham of Rockville Centre, co-founders of JJT Energy, a firm supplying natural gas to the commercial and residential market. The sustaining sponsor is Neurological Surgery, P.C., the largest private neurosurgery practice on Long Island and in the New York tristate area, which has provided ongoing generous support for The Friends major fund-raising events.

Proceeds from this year’s event will support the renovation and enhancement of physician amenities and medical education facilities. Over the past five years, the Friends have raised nearly $1.5 million to support hospital facilities, including new state-of-the-art diagnostic cardiology equipment, new digital mammography equipment in the Women’s Imaging Center and enhancement of the medical center’s Emergency, Trauma and Express Care facilities that include a new Express Care radiology suite.
