Neighbors give Elmont environmental TLC for Earth Day

A dozen Elmont neighbors joined County Legislator Carrié Solages for a community cleanup in Elmont on April 20 in observance of Earth Day.

The group focused on cleaning the underpass at Linden Boulevard and Central Avenue in Elmont, cleaning litter and debris to give the community some much-deserved environmental TLC.

“We all have a duty to protect the planet and keep our neighborhood clean,” Solages said in a news release. “This is even more important in Elmont, which is the gateway to Nassau County. I am so grateful to everyone who commemorated Earth Day by rolling up their sleeves and making a positive impact in our community. Let’s keep the lessons of Earth Day close to mind all year long as we work collaboratively toward a more prosperous and sustainable future.”
