New vehicle joins the Rockville Centre police force

The Rockville Centre Police Department recently put a new traffic enforcement vehicle on the road, a four-wheel drive Chevy Tahoe, purchased primarily with Nassau County funds made available through Legislator Joseph Scannell. Village officials said the vehicle will be very useful in the snow and will be used routinely for the department’s commercial vehicle enforcement details conducted with the New York State Department of Transportation several times a month.

On hand to mark the vehicle’s entry into service were Rockville Centre Police Commissioner Chuck Gennario left, Scannell, Mayor Fran Murray, Lt. James Vafeades at the wheel, Lt. Chris Romance and police department liaison Trustee Mike Sepe.
