Ready for their big night out in Rockville Centre

They were easy to spot: a look around Rockville Centre last Thursday evening revealed that it was a very special night as limos and party buses lined the streets.

Elegantly attired teens in prom dresses and heels, and in crisp tuxedos with boutonnieres added color to the neighborhood as pre-prom parties, like one hosted by Chris and Mary Testa on Dogwood Lane, took place all over town.

South Side High School’s students celebrated at the annual prom at the Seawane Club in Hewlett Harbor. After dinner and dancing, the class of 2012 continued its party with the annual PTA-sponsored post-prom at Dave and Busters in Farmingdale.

The event, which lasted until the wee hours of the morning, provided games, food and prizes for students who attended. When it ended, the soon-to-be-graduating seniors were bused back home to catch a few hours of sleep before their early-morning rehearsal and commencement at 5 p.m. on Friday.
