Rockville Centre 10K, 5K, Family Fun Run races set for Saturday

Hundreds of runners from Rockville Centre and beyond will take to village roads this Saturday, starting at 10 a.m., when the Parks and Recreation Department and the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce host the 34th annual 10K (6.2-mile) road race and the newer 5K (3.1-mile) race.

The starting line for both events is on Park Avenue, between Merrick Road and Sunrise Highway, in front of the Fantasy movie theater. Race day registration is at Village Hall and the fees are #28 for the 10K and $23 for the 5K. The course is flat and fast. The race will be run rain or shine.

The one-mile Family Fun Run begins the same day at 9 a.m. on Front Street, at the Long Island Rail Road station. The entry fee is $10.
