Rockville Centre Crime Watch 9-17

People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

n Brianna Britt, 21, of Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief in Oceanside on Aug. 20.

n Howard Walter, 69, of Combes Avenue, was arrested on Sept. 2 at 5 p.m. and charged with harassment. Police say they arrested Walter after a neighbor complained, telling them that Walter had verbally harassed him on several occasions.

n Barbara Dellolio, 43, of 257th Street, Floral Park was arrested at 10:55 p.m. on Sept. 4 and charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. According to police, they arrested her at Peninsula Boulevard and Ocean Avenue, after she had struck another car on Lakeview and N. Village avenues, left that scene and struck a tree on Irving Place, again leaving the scene. At the time of her arrest, police say they determined that Dellolio was driving under the influence of a narcotic substance.

n Gerard LeBlanc, 46, of Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on Althouse Avenue in East Rockaway on Sept. 4. According to detectives, LeBlanc was involved in a car accident and refused a blood test.

Burglaries

n On Sept. 5, at 6:30 a..m. a Yale Place resident told police that between 3:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., someone entered her home through an open side window and stole her and her husband’s wallets containing personal identification, credit cards and some cash. Two cell phones were also stolen. Nassau County Police Department detectives responded to the scene for investigation.

n Also on Sept. 5, at 9:20 a.m., a Harvard Avenue resident reported to police that between Sept. 4 at 10 p.m. and Sept. 5 at 9:20 a.m., someone cut a window screen on the side of the house and apparently reached inside and stole a laptop computer from the top of a desk. Nassau County Police Department detectives responded to that scene to investigate as well.

Criminal mischief

n On Sept. 2 at 11:35 p.m., a 28-year-old man told police that between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. that evening, someone slashed two tires on his car, which was parked in MPF # 9.

Larcenies

n At 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 31, a 22-year-old woman reported to police that someone stole her cell phone that she had inadvertently left unattended for a few minutes on the counter of Dunkin Donuts, 61 N. Village Ave.

n At 7:05 p.m. on Sept. 2, a 32-year-old man reported to police that someone stole his bicycle from the bike rack at the Long Island Rail Road station on Front Street.

n On Sept. 2 at 11:40 a.m., an 87-year old woman told police that while she was shopping inside the King Kullen supermarket, 127 Sunrise Highway, someone stole her wallet, containing personal identification and credit cards, from her pocketbook which she had place d inside her shopping cart.

n On Sept. 3 at 7:12 p.m., an employee at the House of Style, 270 Merrick Road, reported to police that a woman about 30-35 years old picked up a pair of jeans, valued at approximately $315, and fled from the store with them without paying.

n At 12:05 a.m. on Sept. 15, a 19-year-old woman told police that someone stole her Coach pocketbook, containing personal identification and $700 in cash from her friend’s unlocked car, which was parked in the lot of Taco Bell, 570 Sunrise Highway, while the victim and her friend were inside the restaurant.

n On Sept. 6, at 1:35 p.m., a 51-year-old man told police that someone stole his bicycle which he had locked to a meter at Sunrise Highway and N. Park Ave.

n Also on Sept. 6 at 3:05 p.m., the owner of Parrots of the World, 316 Sunrise Highway, reported to police that a man about 18-20 years old secreted a Cockatoo bird, valued at approximately $1,800m in a cloth carry bag and ran from the store. Another customer inside the store followed the subject in her car and managed to stop him and recover the bird, but was unable to detain the alleged thief.

Appearance Tickets

n Kyle Kalibut, 17, of Rockville Centre, was issued an appearance ticket for disorderly conduct after being involved in a fight on Long Beach Road in Oceanside on Sept. 2.

n Rickey G. Hanson, 52 of Clinton Avenue, Catherine Brown, 77 of Meehan Lane and Jayse Allen Jr., 87, of Maine Avenue received appearance tickets on Sept. 7 at 5:55 a.m. charging them with disturbing curbside garbage in Municipal Parking Field 7.

Joscue D. Delcid, 17 of N. Bergen Place, Freeport, was issued an appearance ticket on Sept. 10 at 12:20 a.m. charging him with riding his bicycle on the sidewalk at Sunrise Highway and Long Beach Road.

Brandon L. Sydnor, of E. 104th Street, Brooklyn, received an appearance ticket on Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. on William Street charging him with having no permit to solicit
