People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

A 23-year-old man from, Warwick, N.Y. was arrested on Dec. 9 and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct after a police investigation on Sunrise Highway.

A 35-year-old Springfield Garden man was arrested on Dec. 11 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations after a police investigation on Sunrise Highway.

A 26-year-old man from Valley Stream, was arrested on the same day and charged with driving while intoxicated and VTL violations after a police investigation on Sunrise Highway.

Burglaries

The owner of Prime Catch Restaurant at 41 S. Park Ave. reported on Dec. 5 that $2,260 was stolen from an office safe.

A resident of Maple Avenue reported on Dec. 7 that $400 and jewelry was stolen from his apartment.

The following day, a resident of William Street reported that someone damaged a first floor window next to the front door and knocked over pictures on a table in front of it. The resident reported no loss at the time of the report.

Larcenies

A resident of Buckminster Road reported on Dec. 6 that someone entered her unlocked 2001 Chrysler while it was parked at her home overnight and removed $10 and 75 music CDs valued at approximately $1,000.

The same day, a waitress at Chichenitza, 212 Merrick Road, reported that a coworker stole her cell phone.

A resident of Maple Avenue reported on Dec. 7 that someone stole two remote keypads for the garage door of her parking garage from her parked motor vehicle.

A resident of Lincoln Avenue reported on the same day that someone stole property from her car, including a check book, while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field 23.

A resident of Catherine Street reported on Dec. 9 that someone stole her purse containing property, including an iPhone, from the back of a chair while at Churchill’s at 18 S. Park Ave.
