Arrest

A 32-year-old resident of Franklin Square was arrested on May 21 and charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly pushing a female to the ground in front of 49 N. Village Avenue.

Juvenile

On May 21, a 15-year-old village resident was found to be in possession of several controlled substances behind a North Park Avenue restaurant. The juvenile and his parent are scheduled to appear in Family Court on June 6.

Assault

On May 16, an East Meadow resident reported that he had been assaulted by an employee of R.J. Daniels Restaurant, 279 Sunrise Highway, on May 14 around midnight.

Burglary

On May 22, a resident of Stratford Road reported arriving home and finding it burglarized. Entry was made through a basement window. The homeowner was unable to determine the loss at the time of the police report.

Leaving the scene of an auto accident

A homeowner on Meadow Lane reported on May 21 that the front of his house was struck by a car that left the scene. No one was home at the time of the incident.

A Morris Avenue resident reported to police on May 21 that her car was struck by another vehicle that left the scene while it was parked in front of her home.

On the same day, an Island Park resident told police that her car was struck from behind by another vehicle while she was stopped for a red light on Oceanside Road at Merrick Road.

Larcenies

On May 16 a resident of Amherst Court reported that someone stole assorted jewelry from inside his home between Feb. 1 and May 1.

On May 17, three tenants at an apartment building on Merrick Road told police that someone broke side windows on their vehicles and removed cash and small electronic items. All three incidents occurred during the overnight hours.

A tenant of an apartment building on Merrick Road reported to police on May 18 that someone broke a side window on her vehicle and took a GPS unit and an Ipod. The incident took place between May 16 and May 18.

A visitor from Staten Island reported on May 19 that someone broke the side window of his 2010 Subaru and removed a GPS while it was parked on the street in front of 700 Sunrise Highway.
