People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrest

Timmel Charles Pearson, 21, of Theresa Place, Hempstead, was arrested on Jan. 17 at 3:54 a.m. and charged with an outstanding criminal contempt warrant after police say they saw him urinating in Municipal Parking Field 1.

Burglary

On Jan. 12 a S. Forest Avenue resident told police that between 1:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., someone pried open a side door to the home and stole $10,600 from an upstairs bedroom. Detectives from the Rockville Centre Police Department and Nassau County First Squad are investigating.

Larcenies

On Jan. 13, a woman from St. Albans, Queens, reported to police that an acquaintance deceived her into signing a lease agreement for a motor vehicle with a Sunrise Highway automobile dealership in Rockville Centre. The woman further reported that she never took possession of the leased vehicle that she saw being driven off the lot by a second person. The vehicle was recovered in Manhattan by the New York Police Department. The Rockville Centre Police Department and Nassau County First Squad detectives are investigating.

On Jan. 16, a man from Elmont told police that he had property stolen from a locker at a Merrick Road fitness club. Detectives from the Rockville Centre Police Department and Nassau County First Squad are investigating.

Harassment

On Jan. 12, a woman from Maine Avenue reported ongoing harassment from a man from Queens who she met through an online dating service. Rockville Centre police and Nassau County First Squad detectives are investigating.
