People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

A 31-year-old Wantagh man was arrested on Nov. 12 and charged with driving while impaired following an investigation at Sunrise Highway and Montauk Avenue.

Larcenies

A resident of Long Beach reported on Nov. 8 that someone stole her wallet from a shopping cart at CVS, located at 598 Merrick Road.

The same day, a resident of S. Centre Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that an acquaintance stole a key and his student identification in the vicinity of S. Park Avenue and Riverside Road.

A manager of the CVS located at 155 Sunrise Highway reported the same day that a male from Elmont attempted to take a bag of cat food from the store without authorization.

A manager of the CVS located at 598 Merrick Road reported on Nov. 12 that two male subjects attempted to steal an electric razor.

On Nov. 13, a manager of the same CVS reported that a male placed a portable TV/DVD in a bag and left the store without paying for the merchandise.

The same day, a manager of the CVS located at 155 Sunrise Highway reported the theft of 33 cans of baby formula by two men and a woman.

A resident of Massapequa reported the same day that her handbag was stolen from the bar at Kasey’s Kitchen and Cocktails.

A resident of Greystone Road, Rockville Centre reported on Nov. 14 that someone stole property from his front yard, including a Panasonic camera and fishing gear.

The same day, a resident of Andover Road reported that someone entered her vehicle and stole $100 from the front console while it was parked in front of her home.

Criminal mischief

A resident of Levittown reported on Nov. 9 that someone damaged the front passenger side window of his 2007 Toyota and stole a GPS while the vehicle was parked in the rear of 22 N. Forest Ave.

On Nov. 14, an employee of the Diocese of Rockville Centre reported that someone damaged the glass double pane of a ground level window.

Property damage

An employee of Watson Elementary School reported on Nov. 7 that a plywood animal decoration located on the front lawn of the school was broken by unknown means.

The same day, a resident of Revere Street reported that a passenger side mirror to his 2010 Chevrolet was damaged by unknown means.

A resident of Baldwin reported on Nov. 10 that the driver side bumper to his 2010 BMW was damaged while parked in Municipal Parking Field 1.

Graffiti

Police personnel located graffiti on a traffic control box at the northeast corner of N. Village Avenue and Maine Avenue on Nov. 8.

Unusual incident

A resident of Cedar Avenue reported that someone cashed 10 checks against his Astoria Federal Savings Bank checking account, totaling $15,299.44, without his authorization.

Harassment

A resident of Hewlett reported on Nov. 12 that he was punched by someone while in RJ Daniels, located at 279 Sunrise Highway.

The following day, a resident of Oxford Road reported she received an alarming telephone call.

A resident of Hendrickson Avenue reported on Nov. 13 that she has been receiving repeated unwanted telephone calls and texts from an unknown male.
