People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

A 21-year-old from Merrick Road was arrested on Oct. 10 and charged with criminal mischief after a police investigation on New York Avenue, in Oceanside.

A 45-year-old Rockville Centre man was arrested on Oct. 11 and charged with assault after a police investigation at his residence.

A 24-year-old South Hempstead man was arrested on Oct. 13 and charged with criminal mischief after a police investigation at 50 N. Park Ave.

On Oct. 13, a 21-year-old woman from West Hempstead, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a police investigation at the intersection of N. Village Avenue and Front Street.

Sex offense

A resident of North Centre Avenue reported on Oct. 14 that her employer at a North Park Avenue restaurant forcibly kissed and touched her without her permission.

Burglaries

A resident of Voorhis Avenue reported on Oct. 11 that someone damaged two window screens and pushed up a third screen at her residence, in an apparent attempt to gain entry between 6:20 a.m. and 9 a.m.

The same day, a resident of Hampshire Road reported that someone entered a rear window between 9:20 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and stole property, including a laptop and iPhone, from her residence.

The following day, the manager of the AT&T store at 237 Sunrise Highway reported that someone stole property, including approximately 12 LG and HTC smart phones valued at $7,100 total, after a storefront glass window was broken.

Larcenies

A resident of Oceanside reported on Oct. 11 that someone stole property, including his NYFD identification, from his 1999 Chrysler while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field 8.

The same day, a resident of Berkshire Road told police that someone stole property, including jewelry valued at approximately $20,947, from her residence.

An employee of Maple Pointe at 260 Maple Ave. reported the same day that a relative of a resident took a medical chart from the facility without authorization.

The following day, a manager of Party World at 355 Merrick Road reported that someone stole six Sport Plus backpacks valued at $120 and fled on foot toward Sunrise Highway.

The manager of the T-Mobile store at 323 Sunrise Highway reported on Oct. 15 that someone stole four cell phones valued at approximately $1,000 total. The manager reported that the suspect fled on food in an unknown direction.

Criminal mischief

A resident of Hempstead Avenue reported on Oct. 16 that someone damaged two light fixtures, valued at approximately $400, in front of her home.

Unusual incidents

A nurse supervisor from Mercy Medical Center reported on Oct. 16 that someone made three telephone calls causing annoyance and alarm.

A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Oct. 8 that her daughter opened a Sprint cell phone account using her personal information without her permission.
