People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

A 26-year old Rockville Centre man was arrested on Sept. 16 and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of assault and a count of resisting arrest after an investigation by police in Municipal Parking Field 6. Two officers were injured during the arrest.

A 21-year-old Baldwin man was arrested on Sept. 17 and charged with driving while intoxicated after being observed driving a car on Sunrise Highway at Oceanside Road.

Robbery

A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 19 that he was robbed by four people while in the vicinity of N. Forest Avenue. The victim sustained minor injuries and the subjects took his backpack, necklace, cell phone and $5.

Burglaries

A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 15 that the rear door of her house was damaged and that someone had placed a chair beneath the kitchen window.

A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 20 that someone entered her apartment on weekends over a period of 15 months and stole property.

Larcenies

A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 14 that someone stole his 2009 Magna Mountain bicycle, valued at $120, from Front Street and N. Park Avenue.

A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 18 that someone had removed property from his 2002 Jeep while it had been parked at his apartment overnight.

A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 19 that someone stole a Kodak Easy Share 550 digital camera, valued at $119, from inside a doctor’s office where she works.

Assault

A resident of West Hempstead reported on Sept. 18 that a male acquaintance assaulted her and injured her right eye while on Meehan Lane.

Unusual incidents

A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept 20 that someone withdrew $600 from her Chase account without authorization.

A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 20 that someone withdrew $1,006 from her Chase account without authorization.

Two residents of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 20 that three people attempted to obtain personal information from them while at their separate apartments at approximately 6:15 a.m.

Criminal mischief

A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 16 that his 2010 Nissan was damaged while parked in Municipal Parking Field 26.

Property Damage

The owner of the Amitrano Deli at 17 S. Park Ave. reported on Sept. 18 that someone damaged the rear gate and air conditioner.

A manager of the Sandel Center at 50 S. Park Ave. reported on Sept. 19 that a fence panel had been removed. Maintenance personnel reinstalled the panel.

A resident of Hempstead reported on Sept. 20 that a golf ball damaged the windshield of his 2010 Hyundai while in the vicinity of DeMott Avenue and N. Long Beach Road.

Harassment

A resident of Lynbrook reported on Sept. 15 that someone punched him while in the vicinity of N. Village Avenue and Front Street.
