Rockville Centre Fire Department to host 4th Battalion Parade

On Saturday August 21, 2021, The Rockville Centre Fire Department will host its Fourth Battalion Parade and Drill. The parade will Step off at 6:00 p.m. featuring Fire Departments, equipment and bands from Rockville Centre, East Rockaway, Lakeview, Lynbrook and Malverne -- the member departments from the Fourth Battalion District. Several other neighboring Fire Departments will also be in the line of march. The drill will take place at Fireman’s Field starting at 1:00 p.m. consisting of Firematic Ladder and Hose events.

The parade will begin at Parking Field 12 located on Sunrise Highway and Long Beach Road and will proceed north on Long Beach Road turning right (east) onto Lakeview Avenue, turning left onto Knollwood Road and travel north to Fireman’s Field (South Side High school). Each department will be judged along the parade route for appearance and marching skills. Trophy ceremonies will take place at Fireman’s Field. Trophies will be awarded for best appearing fire departments, junior fire departments and bands. Ex-Chief and Former Commissioner 4thBattalion John O’Reilly will serve as the Grand Marshal.
