More than 2,000 Rockville Centre residents lined Long Beach Road on Monday to support the village’s veterans and service men and woman during the Memorial Day Parade.

The Parade went from South Side High School, south on Long Beach Road to the Recreation Center. It was the second year the route was used because of construction on Maple Avenue.

Many different local groups an organizations marched in the parade, including the fire department, police department and the American Legion. The parade was led by Grand Marshal Sol Williams, an Army veteran.

The parade concluded with a remembrance ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Park, located on the grounds of the Recreation Center. Veterans led a wreath-laying ceremony in remembrance of those that gave their lives for the country.
