Rockville Centre student noted for excellence in the arts

Fallon Kesicier, a resident of Rockville Centre, was a recipient of an Award of Excellence for her visual arts portfolio in the Long Island Arts Alliance’s 2010-11 Scholar-Artist program. Fallon is a senior at Our Lady of Mercy Academy in Syosset. A very talented artist, she won the award for her drawings and paintings.  As a junior last year, Fallon had one of her works selected for the Long Island’s Best: Young Artists at the Heckscher —a juried show for high school artists across Long Island sponsored by the Heckscher Museum in Huntington. Her work was on exhibit at the museum last May.

The Scholar-Artist program was established in 2007 by school and community arts teachers and administrators, who determined that selected Long Island music, visual arts, dance, theater and media arts students should be recognized for their accomplishments. It is sponsored by the Long Island Arts Alliance, with support from the Roslyn Savings Foundation. Fallon and other award recipients will be honored later this year at a gala at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts.
