Rockville Centre Webelos enjoy a handy experience

Posted

On March 12, Webelos I, fourth grade Cub Scouts from Rockville Centre Pack 31, Den 1, had a “handy” experience thanks to Joe Gallogly and the staff at Tire Town on Long Beach Road. The boys, students from Wilson, Covert, Hewitt and Riverside elementary schools, learned how to use a jack to raise a car off the ground, remove and tighten lug nuts, check the oil level of a car and check tire pressure on car and bicycle tires using a pressure gauge.

The scouts also learned the importance of maintaining proper air pressure levels in both car and bicycle tires. Den leaders Jeanne Manzi and Donald Gelestino sent a big thank you to Joe and the staff at Tire Town for volunteering their time to assist the scouts in completing their Handyman achievement.
