Rockville Centre's Covert school's children help others

The children of Covert Elementary School recently participated in “Project Linus” under the direction of Susan Buckheit and Paula Lake, creating “no sew” fleece blankets to donate to the Winthrop Pediatric Cancer Unit.

Supplies for the project were donated by the Raymar Children’s Fund. Each class made its own special blanket to donate to the children at Winthrop. Sofia Tavella from South Side Middle School also worked on the project.

In the photo below is one child representing each class, with Covert staff and the Project Linus coordinator.
