RVC Fireworks needs your help

Posted

Now that summer is fast approaching, it is time to think about a great event in Rockville Centre. This year the Rockville Centre Guild for the Arts, along with its president, Wayne H. Lipton, and Mary Beth Kearns, director of its Fireworks Committee, is hosting the 2011 Fireworks Celebration on Saturday, July 9 in Centennial Park near Mill River.

Once again the South Shore Symphony will perform before (7:45 p.m.) and after the Grucci fireworks (9:15 p.m.). As an organization that is supported entirely by the public’s donations, it needs help. So far hundreds of people have made donations to help raise funds for this fun, family event that has been going on in Rockville Centre for more than 25 years. But the committee is running short of its goals and needs help to cover the cost of the celebration.

Last year, almost 500 residents and businesses generously helped fund the fireworks celebration. Supporters hope that additional residents and businesses will make a tax deductible donation today to sponsor this year’s event. Every dollar counts and more participation is needed.

They’re asking everyone to come together to celebrate by sending a check today to: The RVC Guild for the Arts, P.O. Box 662, Rockville Centre, NY 11571-0662.
