RVC United Party kicks off its campaign

Posted

Supporters of the new RVC United Party had an opportunity to meet and mingle with its slate of candidates — Francis X. Murray, who is running for mayor and Nancy Howard and Michael Sepe, both trustee candidates, at their official campaign kick-off on the afternoon of April 3 at Cannon’s Blackthorn Irish American Restaurant and Bar on N. Village Avenue.

Murray said that the restaurant, which holds 400 people, was “packed,” and there was an overflow crowd at a bar in its back courtyard. Village Justice William Croutier Jr. who is running for another term on the slate of both the RVC United Party and the opposing Concerned Citizens Party, was on hand — and spoke — at the afternoon fundraiser.

“We fired up the crowd with three good speeches,” said Murray. “We raised a lot of money, had a lot of fun and got a great response from the people who live in Rockville Centre.”
