RVCFD elections to be held April 7

On April 7, the members of the Rockville Centre Volunteer Fire Department will go to the polls to take a vote of confidence for the three sitting chiefs and one delegate to the Fourth Battalion Fire District.

The following Chiefs will be seeking reelection to a second year: Robert Seaman for Chief of Department, Brian Cook for 1st Assistant Chief and Eric Burel for 2nd Assistant Chief. Also, Ex-Chief John Hennig will be seeking his fifth term as Delegate to the Fourth Battalion Fire District.

Each candidate received the endorsement of their fire company.

The officers and members of Live Oak Engine Company proudly endorsed Chief Robert J. Seaman in seeking re-election as Chief of the Rockville Centre Fire Department. Seaman joined the department in 1989 and served as Captain of Live Oak Engine Co. No. 1 from 1995 to 1997. He served as Chief Fire Inspector for eight years before being elected 2nd Assistant Chief in 2011.

Throughout his years of service with the fire department, Seaman has been involved in all phases of fire department activities, has held key positions on several company and department committees and availed himself to many advanced firefighting courses on the department, county and state level.

Seaman works at the local P. C. Richard & Son and has served as store manager for more than 15 years. He works in town, dedicates his time and attention to the fire department and has been serving the community for over 27 years.

The officers and members of Reliance Hose Company No. 3 take great pride in unanimously endorsing Brian Cook for the position of 1st Assistant Chief of the Rockville Centre Fire Department.

Cook joined the department in June of 1988 and is in his 27 year of dedicated service. He rose through the ranks of Reliance Hose Company No. 3, where he served as captain from 1998-2001. Cook served as 2nd Assistant Chief from 2013-15 and this past year as 1st Assistant Chief of the Rockville Centre Fire Department.
