A small fire broke out in the back of a garbage truck on Monday, forcing it to dump its contents in the street to be put out.

The Rockville Centre Fire Department quickly responded to a call at about noon on Monday for the fire, which started in the back of a village garbage truck. Because of the fire, the truck dropped its entire load at the intersection of Fenway and Intervale.

The fire was quickly brought under control by the RVCFD, and the mess was cleaned up within an hour by the village’s Department of Public Works. No one was injured.
