South Side High School senior Crystalyn Wynter is one of 15 finalists, selected from almost 100 applicants in the Huntington Arts Council’s second annual Island-wide talent competition: “Got Talent? Long Island.” After reviewing the work of all the singers, musicians and actors, the judges selected Crystalyn as a finalist, and along with two showcase artists, she'll appear on the evening of May 12.

The 17-year-old has been performing and singing since she was 7, and plans to attend Five Towns College to study Jazz and Commercial music in the fall. Crystalyn recently starred as Nettie in South Side High School’s production of “Carousel,” was a finalist in the competition last year and has had the honor of singing at the Apollo Theatre numerous times.

The benefit evening of entertainment takes place at Dix Hills Performing Arts Center Five Towns College at 8 p.m. Talent ranging from rock bands and classical pianists to Broadway performers will compete for a prize package that includes $500 cash, a gig at the 45th Annual Huntington Summer Arts Festival, a $1,000 scholarship to Five Towns College and more. In addition to first prize, this talented group will compete for an awards including Audience Choice, Rising Star, 13 Plus and 13 Under. Comedienne and humorist Fran Capo will be the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
