South Side High School to graduate 280 on June 24

South Side High School’s 120th commencement ceremony will be held on June 24 at 5 p.m. at the Hofstra University Arena.

Maria Passarelli will deliver the Valedictory address and Deanna Davoudiasl will give the Salutatory address. Officers of the class of 2011 include President Brendan Principato, Vice-President Bill Vella, Secretary Tyler Schoen, Treasurer Dan Feldman. Class advisors are Jean Fitzsimons and Elizabeth Nisler-Cross.

Officers of the Student Government include President Kevin Remy; 1st Vice-President Chris Delbello, Secretary Maria Passarelli. The Student Government advisor is Marcy Pedone. The Laurel Awards, presented annually to the senior boy and girl who have been most involved in extra-curricular activities during high school will be presented at graduation. Recipients of the Richard S. Beyers School-Community Service Award will also be announced. Centennial Awards will also be granted by the Alumni Association. Additional awards for the 2010-2011 school year were presented at the Varsity “S” Dinner on June 6 and the Awards assemblies on June 9.

Principal Dr. Carol Burris will present the 280 students of the Class of 2011 to the Board of Education for their diploma and board President Liz Dion will address the audience.
