Hewitt Elementary School’s kindergartners were recently surprised with a visit from two of Rockville Centre’s bravest. Firemen Jack Cook and Dan Moriarty from Eureka Ladder Co. 1 came to speak to the children about fire safety.
The excitement level rose when students were invited onto the stage to try on hats, jackets and handle vital pieces of equipment. Life-saving tips were shared and discussed, and by the session’s end, Hewitt’s littlest students had a much better idea of what to do in case of an emergency.
